Peru Pima continues to raise funds for I.U Wake Up sheets
2018.04.23

Family owned company Peru Pima is continuing to raise funds for its latest luxury yet affordable product I.U Wake Up sheets on Indiegogo with the goal of taking its products online to reach new audiences. The company intends to provide luxury bed sheets, while giving back to communities through their partnership with Peruvian non-profit Kusimayo.

I.U Wake Up offers 300 thread count Pima cotton sheets. Pima cotton is known to be one of the most luxurious cotton fibres in the world. Pima cotton has naturally long fibres, making sheets feel silky, while remaining durable, so sheets will not pill in the wash.

I.U sheets use a plain style tight percale weave where the threads cross over and under each other, one at a time, giving linens a breathable feel. These sheets are also Oeko-Tex certified, meaning that the fabrics are free of harmful chemicals.

"I created this buy-one, give-one business model for I.U following a backpacking trip through the Andes mountains. I was welcomed by a family in front of Lake Titicaca, and after spending a freezing night at their home, I became aware of a serious problem that affects thousands of people,"said I.U Wake Up CEO Mauricio Varon. "In Puno, many families living in extreme poverty conditions suffer temperatures as low as 13 degrees Fahrenheit, which causes over 500 deaths each year. When I got back to the capital city of Lima, I realised we could make a difference with I.U."

Varon has created I.U Wake Up sheets in an effort to provide consumers with luxury sheets at an inexpensive price, while taking part in a social good. As a native of Peru, Varon wants to give back to Peru by donating a blanket to members of small communities for each set of sheets purchased.(FIBER2FASHION)
